Hambledon

Hambledon, known as the ‘Cradle of Cricket’, is a rural village packed full of attractive country homes and a popular tea room. Our walk loops around the perimeter of the village, taking you up onto the National Trust’s Speltham Down.

Southwick

Start this walk in Southwick, an attractive village that has retained its historical charm, and then head out across the farmland of the wider estate. On your return you can visit the remains of Southwick Priory, now in the stewardship of English Heritage, and the village tea rooms, which come highly recommended.

Creech Wood

Creech Wood near Denmead is an easy to explore mainly coniferous woodland with a network of firm paths. It has an interesting history having once been part of the Medieval Forest of Bere and more recently the site of a WWII encampment.

The views from The Trundle in West Sussex are the best in the county. We have added more to this route by providing details of how to walk to Singleton with a very family friendly pub.

We joined Bird Aware Solent for a guided birdwatching walk at Warsash Shore. This was such a brilliant way for us to learn about the birds we spot on our walks as well as what steps walkers can take to care for them.
A spot of golden winter sun and salty sea air was just what was needed one Sunday afternoon when we headed down to Hayling Island to revise our walk at Sinah Beach.

It was a rather chilly day to be updating this New Forest walk near Burley, but we got some lovely photos of the frozen Whitten Ponds. This walk has pushchair and bike friendly options.
