Walking Stays

We often get asked if we can recommend anywhere to stay near our walks, so in this collection we will be sharing some of our first-hand experiences of campsites, glampsites and other accommodation from which you can directly enjoy one of our routes.

Book yourself in and enjoy a walking weekend in Hampshire, West Sussex and Surrey!

Where to stay: We enjoyed two nights in the Cowshed Cabin. This was a cut above your average glamping with a seriously luxurious private bathroom, log fire, dining room, BBQ area, two bedrooms, veranda and a large amount of space to play in. There is also a traditional campsite in the next field if you prefer a more budget stay. It is all set in idyllic countryside with partner business, the Dell, offering wood-fired pizza and drinks in a relaxed summer festival style.

Where to walk: Guests of Cedar Valley or The Dell can enjoy a stunning circular walk that includes views of the green rolling hills of the Meon Valley and a descent into the pretty village centre, where the young river flows right through the middle.

Where to stay: We spent a night at the wonderfully rustic and off-grid Wild Combe. There is acres of space for children to run free in, trees to swing from and hay bales to climb on. The site even has its own reservoir where you can paddle board and wild swim. Fire pits are allowed on the generous pitches and furnished bell tents are available too.

Where to walk: Footpaths lead directly from the campsite in the direction of a quaint village pub with wonderful views. From here, you can climb up to the South Downs Way, where the views get even more sublime.

Where to stay: Tucked away behind hedgerows, right in the middle of the country park, is a secret enclosure full of bell tents and cabins. Each one has beds and electric fires inside and BBQ pits outside. There are shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. The best thing about staying here is after hours access to the play areas of the park and a direct entrance to the adjacent bluebell woods.

Where to walk: The obvious choice is to walk one of the trails around the country park. But if you want some more options then right along the shoreline will take you to this walk at Netley and left along the shoreline will take you to this walk at Hamble-le-Rice.
