Basingstoke Canal
The Basingstoke Canal runs for 32 miles, originally connecting Basingstoke to The River Thames in Surrey. Walks beside the nature rich waters are always enjoyable and always flat. This collection brings together our favourite walks beside the canal, some of which also feature parks, play areas, camp-sites, picnic spots, pubs and even a castle.
Occasionally, communities move on and all that remains is their church, mysterious and isolated with plenty of stories to tell. Here are some curiously lonely churches and the charming walks around them.
