Rowlands Castle and Stansted Forest
In 2023, a new playground was completed in Rowlands Castle. Using this as a starting point, if you walk over the splendid village green, passing pubs and a café, you will find yourself in a forest where long grassy rides frame views of Stansted House.
Hinton Ampner
This walk encircles the National Trust property of Hinton Ampner, which is well worth stopping off at for its house and gardens, before looping through the pretty village of Cheriton where you will find a young River Itchen and a historical battle sight.
Stansted Park
Stansted Park stands in 1800 acres of parkland and forest with miles of footpaths and bridleways to explore. This guide gives you three family friendly walks to chose from that can all be combined with a visit to the house and other attractions.
Petworth Park
A truly splendid 700-acre park with a landscape designed by Capability Brown. Bring a picnic and explore the multiple pathways, lake, ancient trees and herds of fallow deer.
