Southwater Country Park
Cripplegate Lake is at the centre of Southwater Country Park near Horsham. It has a paddling beach and a Dinosaur Island adventure play area.
Lepe Country Park
The Lepe Loop will take you along the beach, returning via woodland and fields. It starts and finishes at Lepe Country Park where there is plenty for families to do. You will want to set aside a day for this one!
Southwood Country Park
Southwood Country Park is a 57-hectare green space in Farnborough. It is split into two sides, east and west. The east is home to an excellent cafe, a play area, Cove Brook and wilder land and paths. The west side is a former golf course and has an easy, very well surfaced circular walk.
Avon Heath Country Park
There is plenty to keep children busy here all day with an excellent play park and hands-on nature exhibits, as well as trails across the heath where you will see the park in its full glory with purple heather, silver sandy paths and wildlife-filled ponds.
Itchen Valley Country Park
A new play trail has arrived at Itchen Valley Country Park, adding to the already excellent play facilities. Enjoy the new wooden, nature themed structures as well as walks through woodland, wildflower meadows and water meadows.
Moors Valley Country Park
The play trail may only be a mile long, but expect it to take you a couple of hours to walk, for along the way are nine incredible wooden play structures that will enchant children of all ages. Moors Valley Country Park is right on the Hampshire/Dorset border and is host to an exceptional amount of forest attractions, most of which are free.
Royal Victoria Country Park
Royal Victoria is a country park with something for everyone from woodland to shoreline to parkland. Throughout this landscape you will find historical buildings, play areas and a miniature trainline. The whole park is flat and has marked trails, making it easy to explore.
Alver Valley Country Park
If you want a playground on your walk, you really can’t find better than the one at Alver Valley Country Park. If you can drag the children away from the play equipment, the rest of the park offers easy walks with ponds, views of The Solent, various wildlife habitats, and even a second play area.
Farley Mount Country Park
Just west of Winchester, this country park has miles of forestry paths to explore as well as chalk downland topped with a folly which has an interesting tale to tale.
