A relatively short walk from Manor Farm Tea Room around the attractive village of Seale. In March, you will find masses of daffodils at the end of a private garden that then give way to the bluebells April.

Many families come to Lightwater Country Park for the play area, café, ponds and adventure golf, but there is much more to this park. Heathland walks take you to a viewpoint where you can see as far as the London skyline.

From the natural play area at the bottom, take the easy climb up the wooded slopes of Chinthurst Hill and find a folly and gorgeous views.

Shere is about as quintessentially English as a village can get with quaint cottages, timber framed houses, cosy pubs, tea-rooms and a river trickling through it. If you fancy a festive walk, you can follow in the footsteps of the stars of the Christmas movie The Holiday.

Follow paths through the lower wooded slopes of Leith Hill, passing an intermittent waterfall and a coffee van hidden in a garden at the edge of the woods that you can only get to on foot.

Broadwater Park has plenty to keep families with a play area, ducks to feed, a lake to walk around and waffles to try. But just across the road is The Godalming Navigation, which makes a walk here even more interesting as you can watch the barges traverse the locks.
