Easy walks for the whole family
Hampshire Surrey Sussex
Stroud & Lythe Hanger
Starting from a popular pub on the outskirts of Petersfield, this walk climbs through farmland to a ridge, where there are views to Butser Hill. The countryside is blissfully peaceful and you will enjoy a sprinkling of bluebells on the descent.
Rockford Common
At the far western edge of Hampshire is this must do walk for families with a huge sandpit to explore, a ford to paddle in and a lakeside pub with an excellent play area.
Hazeley Heath
A longer walk, that packs in an awful lot. Starting from a beautiful country pub, the walk follows Hazeley Heath towards Hartley Wintney. You will find views of historic houses, quiet ponds, a woodland play area and remnants of WW2 tank training.
Crookham Village
End this loop around The Basingstoke Canal with a stop at The Exchequer pub. There are streams to cross, bridges to go under and some interesting WW2 defences to investigate.
Holybourne
Holybourne is an attractive village on the outskirts of Alton. There is a great play area, family-friendly pub, duckpond and a network of paths in the surrounding fields.
Every Ambling Path walk has a stand out feature that children will love including magnificent play areas, shallow rivers for paddling, epic country parks and ancient ruins to explore.
